I knew Betsy’s friend Debbie Spiegelman and loved hearing Debbie’s voice from time to time in Betsy’s common sense and frequently brave posts. My most sincere condolences to you and yours as you mourn the loss of a woman who became one of my heroes these last few years.
I’m so very sad for this huge loss for her family and for all the people she cared for as a doctor. Her posts were a saving grace for me during Covid and I’m forever grateful.
During those early disconnected months of the pandemic, Betsy’s posts were a lifeline! I grew to look forward to them, and learned more about her. She was a true educator and medical professional. Every moment of these last four years counted! Last night we listened to the magical voices of The Henry Girls from Donegal here on Seattle. Imagining that their voices reached her!
What heartbreaking news. I never got to meet Betsy but have been an avid reader for the last few years. She guided so many of us through a tough time and brought so much light into the world. My deepest sympathy to you and all her loved ones.
I am very late in finding this now. I am very, very sorry for your loss and for the loss to all of us of Betsy's powerful beacon of sanity, clarity, and love. I feel so sad for you (and for us all). May the reverberations of her life, her life's work, her words, and all who loved her keep radiating out into the world, as she would have wished them to. This is the most devastating news. My heart is aching for you, Jamie, and all her friends, family and patients. I was looking forward to meeting her one day as her blog definitely got me through the pandemic with such informed and caring words. I am forever grateful for her.
