Good trouble, necessary trouble

Today I honor John Lewis, a true warrior who waged peace during his life. He wrote this essay to be published the day of his funeral. I am moved to tears. If you have five minutes and are able to, listen to the reading of the essay found in the link. Listening to his words gives me hope through these hard times, may we all be more like him.

“Though I may not be here with you, I urge you to answer the highest calling of your heart and stand up for what you truly believe. In my life I have done all I can to demonstrate that the way of peace, the way of love and nonviolence is the more excellent way. Now it is your turn to let freedom ring.”
