Interestingly, but perhaps not surprising, 3 studies now show that people who have feelings of entitlement are more likely not to follow the COVID-19 health guidelines.
How did we raise a nation of entitled people who care only about themselves? What does this say about us, as a nation? Now thousands more will die early with painful deaths because of some people’s inability to think of others. We are breaking records daily with 470,000 deaths predicted by the end of February. Such bitter times.
Maybe that is why communities like the Cherokee are doing better? They cultivate a caring culture. We have much to learn about kindness.
It is hard to think beyond the pain for the families, the frustration and dedication of the health care workers. If only, people could see that wearing masks will help us open up again and is a gift to others.
We know what works and we must hang in there for while longer.
Wash your hands, cover your nose, keep safe six, visit outdoors
And finally, my caveat is that this is my experience and my opinions, which are subject to change as more information is available, and not related to the organization I work for. Thanks for reading.
